Though there is the occasional virtuoso, and they often share good insight on how to reach young people online. They are rarely interested in helping you to be more effective using technology. Often times they will show you short cuts or techniques that they use that could end up hurting you and costing you time and money.

I agree. As an employer who is hiring lots of new college graduates, I often ask them about their website usage. Most of them visit Facebook daily, but otherwise, have a surprisingly small online footprint. They don’t use any other web 2.0 sites, and aren’t the “digital natives” the way we often hear them labeled.
