Many people and organizations are contributing to this mass of data, but few are taking advantage of the opportunity to collate it and present it to people who desperately need it.

I am really impressed by this app. The integration with Twitter adds a whole new way for me to access great content. At first I was shocked to see a big team working on this, but as I dug into this app I realized they’ve got a big vision and powerful technology for changing how we read content from the web.

Its a FREE app to boot…

Geofences On Mobile Devices, by Location Labs

This youtube video by Location Labs gives and excellent overview of how people can trigger actions like alerts in mobile apps simply by walking into a new neighborhood or driving within a quarter mile of a gas station.   The technical term for this is geofencing.

So if you needed gas and had a turn-by-turn navigation program with geofencing support running on your device you could instantly see the best prices from stations within your area and someday even negotiate for a price based on whats left in your tank.

See the win-win situation here?  The gas station gets your business and you get a good price.  Sounds powerful.

Bar Code Revolution

via designcat:

A very simple and bright idea. Seriously, why do the barcodes have to be the same boring all the time, if they still work in combination with lines and dots and silhouettes that create an image in the end?

Sainsbury’s self check-out would be waaay more fun if each product had its own unique barcode. The ques would probably be longer as well though:)

This is another must try. Download Junaio from the App Store and follow the directions in the video above.

This video is RUBBISH. I have to ding the creatives on this one. A girl drawing things on a mirror?! The stuff that really matters is when there is useful and usable content displayed (which is hardly shown). Though the video is kind of long, and useless, this is a very cool new technology coming down the pipeline.

iPhone Compared to Android in Google Search Trends

Keep this in mind when doing projects in the mobile space. I am sure this was painful for some of you.

So apparently this was some kind of well planned hoax. Yesterday WAS NOT the day Marty McFly and Doc went to the future. Its actually October 21, 2015
